Residents at Hospital das Clinicas in Porto Alegre have an optional elective to do emergency ultrasound run by EM doctors Marcio Rodrigues, Bianca Bertuzzi, Daniel Pedrollo and Ana Claudia Tonelli de Oliveira. The elective is a month long and includes QA with one of the ultrasound staff who reviews all the residents' submitted images and a final exam where the resident is asked to use the ultrasound on a patient in the ED to investigate and common chief complaint (abdominal pain, shortness of breath...).
